Totem Pole is a 10m hoodoo about 25km down the Wolgan River
The Totem Pole is a 10m hoodoo about 25km down the Wolgan River. It is a geological feature. A 5 ton boulder sits on top of softer conglomerate rock to form a pole about 10m high. The boulder protects the softer rock from eroding.
Route
Start at the locked gate at the Newnes Ruins. Follow the firetrail on the South bank of the Wolgan for 10km
Cross Rocky Creek
Cross Annie Rowan Creek
Bush bash 2km high on S. bank to (70m S of the riverbank)
Return the same way.

Planned Timing
- Leave Car Park at 7AM
- Downstream for 12km to Rocky Creek junction by 8:30
- A further 10km to Annie Rowan Creek junction by 10:00 - includes a couple of creek crossings
- 2km bush bash on south bank to the Pole by 11AM
- Lunch at Pole till 11:30
- 2km bush bash to Annie Rowan Creek by 12:30
- Return to Car Park 16:00
